NASCAR Confirms Outcome Of Parker Kligerman Penalty Appeal
Parker Kligerman and the No. 75 team of Henderson Motorsports have been dealt a final blow in their penalty appeal after a the NASCAR Truck Series race in Daytona.
Kligerman initially won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on February 14 at Daytona International Speedway, but post-race inspections determined that his truck was too low, leading to his disqualification.
This situation has put Kligerman, a part-time driver and full-time TV analyst for The CW Sports and the NASCAR Xfinity Series, in a challenging spot. Known for his victories in the Truck Series, including at Talladega in 2012 and Mid-Ohio in 2022, Kligerman had considered his Daytona win to be monumental. However, a post-race inspection that found his truck below the legal height resulted in severe penalties.

Despite feeling that his team had “a very valid case” to present to the appeals panel, Kligerman’s hopes were dashed when the panel upheld the disqualification.

The appeals panel comprised NASCAR figures such as Bill Mullis, owner of Langley Speedway, alongside industry veterans Kevin Whitaker and Tommy Wheeler. They reaffirmed the initial findings by stating:
“The panel confirms it is more likely than not [that] a rules violation did occur and the disqualification penalties in rule 10.5.2.4 necessitate a race disqualification.”

Although deeply disappointed, Henderson Motorsports shared their position in a public statement following the panel’s decision. The explained in a statement:
“Unfortunately, we have lost our appeal regarding our disqualification from last week’s race in Daytona.
“While we feel that we had a very strong case, we respect the panel’s decision. We’d again like to thank the fans for their support. We’ve shown that we can compete, and we’ll be back! See you all in Bristol!”
