NASCAR Driver Injury Updates After Dramatic Xfinity Race: Multiple Sent To Care Center
The NASCAR Xfinity race at Daytona came to a dramatic end when a huge wreck involving multiple drivers saw them sent to the care center to be evaluated. Thankfully, the drivers were all cleared.
Justin Allgaier, who was also cleared, took blame for the last-lap crash. He explained to FOX Sports reporter Bob Pockrass, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports:
“Causing that last wreck was not how I wanted our night to end.
“You know, that outside row we were in kind of stacked up and I don’t know, I run in the back of Jeb and to kind of keep from crashing him I head to the middle and unfortunately, I think the 32 was coming with a big run, and just too late.

“I should have pulled left a little earlier but at the end of the day just a really frustrating night. The car had speed, you know, the team did a great job.”
Throughout the race, drivers faced various challenges and thrilling moments. As the final stage began, Austin Hill experienced a mechanical issue with leaking fluid. Although he momentarily led the race by choosing to continue pushing alongside rivals like Sheldon Creed, Ryan Sieg, and Justin Allgaier, Hill eventually had to fall back, letting Sieg and Allgaier take the lead before all made their way through a series of green flag pit stops.
The race’s intensity was felt on pit road as well, where Josh Bilicki became involved in a collision initiated by Kris Wright. This incident ended Wright’s night and led to the fifth caution period.

Competing drivers like Sammy Smith and Justin Bonsignore faced their own troubles when, with only eight laps remaining, they made contact. Ryan Sieg and Allgaier were aggressively moving forward when Bonsignore’s last-minute blocking attempt resulted in a collision with Smith, leading to significant damage to their vehicles.
Chaos continued in the final moments of the race when another major crash led to NASCAR Overtime. This was triggered by Connor Zilisch’s entanglement with Allgaier and swept up other drivers, including Parker Retzlaff, and William Sawalich.
In the midst of these dramatic events, Jesse Love emerged victorious.
