NFL Legend JJ Watt Sends Strong Plea to YouTube TV, ESPN Before ‘MNF’

For the second consecutive week, YouTube TV customers will be unable to access ABC/ESPN channels for coverage of “Monday Night Football.”

On Oct. 30, YouTube TV announced that it was pulling all Disney-owned channels as it continues its ongoing contract dispute with the media giant. Since then, users of the popular streaming platform have missed out on two full slates of college football action and now two “Monday Night Football” broadcasts.

Millions of YouTube TV costumers will be without access to Week 10’s primetime matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers on Monday night — including NFL legend J.J. Watt.

Hours before kickoff on Monday, the three-time NFL defensive player of the clear sent a clear plea to YouTube TV and ESPN.

“Can we get this thing figured out by kickoff tonight please?” Watt wrote on X.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this week, Watt voiced his displeasure with both sides of the media war.

“It’s football. We need it,” Watt said after missing last week’s MNF matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. “And I’m not entering my information on another frickin’ website, and I’m not getting a confirmation code sent to my email, clicking it and coming back and putting it in. I’m not doing it. I’m not doing it. I did it once. I have some sort of subscription. I have no clue what it is because I can only watch frickin’ half the content apparently. Or it’s replayed content. It’s [expletive]. Figure it out.”

“When that [QR code] pops up, I get hot,” Watt continued. “… I’m trying to watch my guys. Like, I played for the Cardinals. I wanted to watch the game on Monday night.”

It doesn’t look like the issue will be resolved before Monday night’s matchup between the Eagles and Packers.

On Sunday, YouTube TV announced that it was offering its customers a $20 credit because of the extended blackout caused by its ongoing contract negotiations with Disney.

Monday night’s game will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET from Green Bay’s Lambeau Field.
