The Buffalo Bills got their season back on track with a 26-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend.
Though Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t have a standout game statistically (he threw for 123 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while rushing for 38 yards and another touchdown), he did make headlines when he passed former MVP QB Cam Newton for the most career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history (76).
Allen also caught attention for his multiple back-and-forth battles with Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward, and the two were seen jawing at one another several times throughout the game.
There was one incident, however, that sparked plenty of backlash on social media.

After being tackled by a host of Steelers, led by Heyward, the Pro Bowl defensive end accused Allen of kneeing him in the stomach, which is what sparked his aggressive post-whistle behavior.
“Being kneed in my stomach,” Heyward told reporters of why he got in Allen’s face. “Then I was jawing back and forth. Ticked off the entire game because, as a quarterback, they’re protected and I’m not. It just pisses me off.”
Heyward also added that Allen even confessed to the questionable tactic to separate himself from Heyward at the bottom of a pile.
“Yes, he even said after, ‘I had to do something to get you off of me,’” Heyward alleged.
Given the NFL’s emphasis on cutting down on unsportsmanlike conduct this season, many believed Allen had a fine coming his way — especially given the attention Heyward’s accusations received. But after the league reviewed the play (video below), it was determined Allen didn’t do enough to warrant any discipline.

However, when the NFL released its list of weekly fines on Saturday, Allen’s name was not on it. The reigning MVP dodged a $17,389 unnecessary roughness fine for striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing.
Allen has been disciplined just one time this season. He was slapped with a $14,491 fine for using a violent gesture (throat slash) back in Week 9’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
