NFL Makes Punishment Decision on Dak Prescott-Chiefs Incident
On Thanksgiving Day, the Dallas Cowboys earned their turkey with a 31-28 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in a must-win for Dak Prescott and company as they tried to keep pace in a crowded NFC race.
After throwing for 320 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, Prescott opened up on facing an elite quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and a Super Bowl-winning roster in the Chiefs.
“It’s a team game. I can’t say that. No, I can’t say that. Well, hopefully we can play again, and hopefully we can play again on a bigger stage, in a more meaningful game, sooner rather than later. He’s a hell of a player. You watch that game right there and we got the ball at the end of the game and I knew we couldn’t give it back to him,” the Cowboys quarterback said.

“You know how great he is and it’s on his resume and we’ve all seen it before and you just saw the drive before that their last drive, right, of the Mahomes magic. Yeah, he’s an incredible player, but the end of day, this is a team game. This isn’t necessarily me versus him. We both have a lot on us to go and help our teams win, and do that, and I respect the hell out of him,” he added.
Prescott wasn’t all smiles during the 31-28 victory, though. While trailing 14-10 in the first half, Prescott took exception with a shot from Chiefs rookie Ashton Gillotte.
Despite protesting to the officials, no penalty was called on the play.
On Saturday, when the NFL announced its list of fines from the Week 13 showdowns, Prescott wasn’t vindicated as the league didn’t see enough in the hit to fine Gillotte for his actions during the game.
Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was fined, however, getting hit with a $46,371 fine for use of the helmet.
