After plenty of teasers and leaks, the official NFL schedule has finally been released, with coverage taking place on NFL Network. There are plenty of matchups to look forward to, and new game locations and times to be excited for.
More specifically, the holiday matchups are especially intriguing this year, with some familiar faces playing on each holiday, and some exciting matchups for fans to look forward to.
Thanksgiving
Starting with Thanksgiving, the classic NFC North matchup of the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions will kick off at 1 p.m. EST, where Jordan Love and the Packers will visit Jared Goff’s team in Detroit.
That game will be followed by the Kansas City Chiefs visiting the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. ET. The Chiefs were dominant in the regular season last year, while the Cowboys underwhelmed, mainly due to injuries, so hopefully that will be a better matchup on paper once the day approaches.
The holiday will be capped off with one of the best divisional matchups of last season when the Cincinnati Bengals visit the Baltimore Ravens. That should once again be a classic offensive showdown, a perfect way for NFL fans to wind down after eating lots of food.
All of these matchups seem fantastic on paper, which hasn’t always been the case on Thanksgiving. If the Cowboys can get back to the level they were playing at in years prior to last, all of the teams playing on Thanksgiving could be challenging for a playoff spot.

Black Friday
Those games will be followed by the Chicago Bears facing off with the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday. All of these games will take place in Week 13, on November 27 and November 28.
Christmas
Now shifting to the Christmas matchups, the NFL is embracing the divisional matchups to produce great games, which is a good process to follow.
The day will start off with the Dallas Cowboys facing the Washington Commanders at 1 p.m. EST on Netflix. The NFL seems to think the Cowboys will be good again, with all of the games they are playing on big days for the NFL.
The Lions will then visit the Minnesota Vikings at 4:30 p.m. EST, yet another intriguing NFC North matchup. The night will be capped off with the Denver Broncos visiting the Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFL has gotten a bad rap in the past for not doing the best of job of scheduling exciting games in high-traffic game slots, but this year seems like it will be much better than usual. As long as things go as expected, the holidays should consist of games between only top-tier teams.
