Another day means another Connections puzzle; if you are struggling with today’s, Newsweek is here to help.
Launched by The New York Times in June of last year, the popular brainteaser has become the publication’s second-most-played game behind Wordle, another word-based puzzle.
If you have never played before, Connections challenges players to uncover threads connecting a series of words. Instructions on how to play the game are below. Clues and the answers for today’s puzzle are toward the end of the article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work them out yourself.
How to Play ‘Connections’
The rules of Connections are simple. Each day, players are presented with 16 words, which they have to divide into four distinct categories. For example, Monday’s puzzle connected the words “approval,” “blessing,” “consent” and “support” in the category “official sanctioning.”
Each of the four categories has a separate color denoting its level of difficulty. Yellow is supposed to be the easiest, followed by green, blue and purple. The players select four words they believe are connected. If they are correct, they light up, showing the difficulty color, and are removed from the board.
However, if a player guesses incorrect groups of words four times, the game ends and they are defeated. There is no time limit for the game.
At any point in the game, the player can shuffle the board so that the 16 words are randomly repositioned. Players must also be careful as, sometimes, the game contains red herrings, making it seem like some words are connected when they are not.

Newsweek has some hints to help you figure out today’s Connections categories.
Yellow: Structures one would find in a park for children to play on.
Green: Objects that can be attached to long pieces of material.
Blue: These words can all be described with the same three-letter adjective.
Purple: Words that can go after another word for an infant.
