Odell Beckham Jr. News Surfaces After NFL Punishment

Veteran NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has not played since the Miami Dolphins released him in December of the 2024 season.

Beckham went unsigned through the remainder of the 2024 season and entered 2025 without an NFL team. In early October, he received a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

Beckham’s six-game suspension is now over. And on Tuesday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated the 33-year-old pass catcher.

Beckham is now available to sign with any NFL team as a free agent.

“Three-time Pro Bowl WR Odell Beckham Jr. was officially reinstated by the commissioner today. He remains a free agent,” NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported on social media.

This past summer, Beckham said he’s “not done yet” when it comes to his NFL career. The one-time Super Bowl champion said he spoke with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers about teaming up before the 2025 season.

“I love him; we’ve had conversations,” Beckham said on Club Random with Bill Maher. “I won’t say that it’s not a possibility and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communications.”

Through nine game appearances with the Dolphins in 2024, Beckham reeled in just nine catches for 55 yards and no touchdowns. In the year prior, he had 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns as a wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens.

Beckham has five NFL seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards, with his most recent coming with the Cleveland Browns in 2019. The veteran WR is clearly well past his prime, and it’s unclear if any team will come calling in free agency.

The New York Giants, who drafted Beckham with the No. 12 overall draft pick in 2014, are in notable need of wide receiver depth following the season-ending injury suffered by Malik Nabers earlier this season.
