Owner of Pregnant Rottweiler Expects 6 Pups, Gets Surprise of a Lifetime

A dog’s unbelievable litter size has quickly gone viral on TikTok, leaving viewers in utter shock.

TikTok user @autumn_raineee luckily knew her Rottweiler was pregnant and was able to prepare for the new fur babies. But what she was not expecting was the amount of puppies her Rottweiler ended up having. Let’s just say the pups did not stop coming.

Instead of the six puppies this dog owner was anticipating, the mama ended up having 16 in total. There was a 17th puppy, but unfortunately, that one was a stillborn.

Regardless, the 16 proved to be a paw-full. The tiny “bear” puppies had to take turns feeding. The owner separated them eight at a time to make sure they all had a chance to get mama’s milk. Plus, there was a ton of bottle-feeding.

And bath time never looked cuter. The entire tub was filled with these tiny babies, looking up at the owner with the most precious eyes. It’s no wonder this video quickly captured people’s hearts with users gushing over the adorableness.

The November 14 TikTok video raked in over 14.3 million views and nearly 2 million likes within the first week of being posted.

One viewer commented: “Hell 16? My dog gave birth to six cute puppies but I felt like an 80-year-old woman for taking care of them.” Taking care of puppies is not for the faint of heart.

“101 Dalmatians: Rottweiler edition,” said another user.

“Never knew they could carry so many. Mama sure had a surprise for me,” the creator wrote in the comment section.

Newsweek reached out to @autumn_raineee via TikTok for comment Monday.

A dog’s litter size typically ranges from one to 12 puppies with the average between five and six, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). That being said, a dog’s breed plays an important factor in the size of a litter. AKC states that larger dogs usually have larger litters and on the flip side, smaller dogs will have smaller litters.

For Rottweilers, the AKC reported an average litter size of eight. However, the number of puppies in a litter can range from six to 12. The largest known Rottweiler litter was 18 pups.

This dog owner and Rottweiler mama have their hands full with all 16 puppies running around.
