Packers HC Matt LaFleur Gets Blunt About Bears Disaster
Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers looked like they had Saturday night’s big NFC North showdown against the Chicago Baers in the bag, but then disaster struck.
Leading by a score of 16-9 with just 1:59 remaining in the game and the Bears only having two timeouts, all the Packers had to do was recover an onside kick. Unfortunately, wide receiver Romeo Doubs was unable to do that and the Bears recovered the onside kick and scored a touchdown to force overtime.
After a botched snap on fourth-and-one on Green Bay’s possession in overtime, Caleb Williams found D.J. Moore for a game-winning 46-yard touchdown to put the Packers out of their misery.

It was one of the worst losses in recent NFL history. Green Bay’s chances of winning the NFC North division likely disappeared with that loss as well.

Just one day removed from the brutal loss, LaFleur spoke out with a short and blunt statement about the disaster.
“It’s hard to sleep at night when you have a game like that,” LaFleur said.
That’s how almost every single fan felt after watching that game unfold. Not only did the Packers lose, but the team also saw star quarterback Jordan Love go down with a nasty looking concussion.
On Sunday, Green Bay did receive a huge gift from former superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He was able to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a huge win over the Detroit Lions. That gives the Packers a playoff berth if they win either of their final two games.

Should Green Bay win one of the next two, there is a very good chance that the Packers would land the No. 7 seed in the NFC. At this point in time, the Bears hold the No. 2 seed in the conference. That could set up a Wild Card matchup in Chicago between the two bitter rivals.
Hopefully, the team can regroup from the collapse against the Bears. It was a brutal loss that hurt Green Bay’s chances, but there is still a clear path forward. There would be nothing sweeter for the Packers than getting into the playoffs and eliminating Chicago in the Wild Card round.
