Passenger tries to ‘sneak’ into first class, plan backfires spectacularly

A woman who tried to “sneak” into first class during her flight was told to turn around by cabin crew, making for a hilarious viral TikTok moment.

TikTok user Lily Riera, who has the username @boss.l.i.l.y, shared the video of her attempt that backfired, which has garnered over one million times since she first shared it on October 14.

In the seven-second clip, Riera films the entrance to the first-class section of the plane and can be heard audibly gasping once it comes into view. However, she is quickly told to go the “other way” by a member of staff onboard.

She shared the video with the text overlay, “Trying to sneak into first class!! Lady said, ‘Other way'” with a series of laughing face emojis. “Oh well we tried,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

The clip shows the view as she walks aboard the plane, briefly showing passengers sitting in economy, with standard rows of seats together. However, she then turns and shows a tiny glimpse of first-class where passengers appear to have individual sections with small walls for privacy and comfort. The view was enough to make her gasp, which is exactly when the flight attendant says, “Other way”, and the filming passenger laughs and says, “I wish” before the clip shuts off.

Passengers often opt for first class over economy to have a more comfortable experience on their journey.

First-class remains an appealing choice for many travelers as the number of flights taken around the world continues to grow year on year. This year, over 38 million flights have been taken around the world, according to Statista.

According to the travel site Momondo, economy class is simply designed for passengers to get from point A to point B. Both seat width and pitch tend to be smaller, and it is the cheapest option when flying.

Other classes include premium economy and business class, with first-class being the most luxurious and often most expensive seats on the flight. Passengers in first class usually have space to spread out and sleep, get higher-quality meals and get dividers for more privacy during the journey.

Airlines that offer first-class seats include American Airlines, Delta, and Hawaiian Airlines.

Riera’s failed attempt at accessing first class on her flight got quite the reaction with hundreds of comments.

“She didn’t even look up,” said Webby, referring to the flight attendant who told the passenger to go the other way.

“She heard the gasp and KNEW,” joked Dalton.

“I remember eyeing the first class seat on the map thinking I would of been able to sneak on it,” @user8368828453085 recalled.

“I had that seat once in my life and it was the best experience I’ve ever had,” said @user9713156798513.

@Cinderella wrote: “I was told you gotta act like you’ve done it before. The gasp gave it away sis.”
