Patrick Mahomes Sends Message on Rashee Rice After Chiefs’ Win Over Raiders
Sunday’s Week 7 matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs was all Chiefs, as they dominated from start to finish, winning 31-0.
The atmosphere at Arrowhead Stadium was electric, not only because of the blowout, but also due to the return of third-year wide receiver Rashee Rice, who was coming back from a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy in 2024, as well as a season-ending injury sustained in Week 4 last year.
Despite the long layoff, his chemistry with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes picked up right where it left off.
Rice led the team with seven receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns, while Mahomes, who was replaced in the second half by Gardner Minshew with a comfortable lead, completed 26 of 35 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns.
After the game, Mahomes spoke about having Rice back on the field and how he felt their connection looked in their first game together since his return.
“I’ve got a good sense for Rashee,” Mahomes said. “There were a couple here and there when we were off… but the way he moves and the way he runs routes, I’ve got a good feel for where to put the football.”

Rice also spoke to the media after the game, sharing what fans can expect from the Chiefs offense as he continues to get back into form following a long layoff.
“Maybe with more plays, more touchdowns — not just from me, but from everybody — just being on the field consistently,” Rice said.
The Chiefs will remain at home for their Week 8 matchup next week when they host the Washington Commanders on “Monday Night Football.”
