Patriots’ Mike Vrabel Makes Second Big Hire, Poaching Former Lions Coach as DC
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel continues to build his coaching staff, snagging a coach from the Detroit Lions.
According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Patriots have officially “hired former Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams as their defensive coordinator.”
Williams has served as a defensive line coach in the NFL since 2012. He has worked with such teams as the (then) Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee titans, and Lions.

Vrabel and Williams last worked together with the Titans, where Vrabel was head coach from 2018-2023.
Vrabel has also hired Josh McDaniels as the offensive coordinator for the Patriots.
