Phillip Rivers’ Madden 26 Rating Turns Heads Ahead of Colts Comeback

Philip Rivers is back in the NFL, and that means he is back in the Madden video game following his signing with the Indianapolis Colts.

The 44-year-old grandfather with 10 children has come out of retirement as if it were a Hollywood movie and is projected to start on Sunday against one of the best teams in the league after not taking a snap in almost 5 years.

Rivers, who will travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday, can already take snaps in Madden 26 and have fans from around the world try to take the former Pro Bowler to the Super Bowl with the scrappy Colts.

He was given a 70 overall upon returning to the game, which not only stirred a buzz on social media but also put him above one NFL starter: Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders (69 overall).

Other notable players he sits above in the ratings leaderboard are: New York Giants QB Russell Wilson (69), New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (69), and Tennessee Titans backup Will Levis (68).

If Rivers plays on Sunday and shows that age is just a number, he could potentially eclipse even more starters in the league if he gains a few more points. Minnesota Vikings signal-caller J.J. McCarthy, is a 71 overall, and so is Geno Smith of the Las Vegas Raiders, meaning Rivers could upstage both with a strong performance or two.

While challenging 99 overall Josh Allen as the best player in Madden won’t happen, all Rivers has to focus on is getting through Sunday and a fearsome Seahawks defense.
