Pistons Star Jaden Ivey Ruled Out for Rest of Season Ahead of Playoff Push
At 37-29 on the year, the young Detroit Pistons are seeking to make their first return to the postseason in six years.
Unfortunately, a critical contributor will officially not be available for the Pistons’ playoff push.
According to Omari Sankofa II of The Detroit Free Press, starting Detroit shooting guard Jaden Ivey’s recovery a broken fibula has improved to allow him to take on “weight-bearing strengthening exercises, running progression activity and stationary shooting.”
Jaden Ivey update from the team: His rehabilitation has progressed to “weight-bearing strengthening exercises, running progression activity and stationary shooting.”
His progress will be updated in four weeks, which is basically the end of the season.

Sankofa notes that Detroit is set to provide another update on Ivey’s status in four weeks. Given that the regular season ends exactly four weeks from Thursday, he has effectively been ruled out for the remainder of the year.

Does that mean that Ivey could, potentially, return to the floor for Detroit if the team makes a playoff run?
It certainly can’t be ruled out just yet.
