Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Hold Back About Mike Tomlin
The 2025 NFL season is underway and the Pittsburgh Steelers could not be more excited about it. After an aggressive offseason that included the signing of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the team is widely expected to be a serious contender in the AFC.
Rodgers was not the only aggressive move the Steelers’ front office made. They also went out and acquired players like DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Jonnu Smith.
On the outside looking, Pittsburgh looks like a Super Bowl contender. That will need to be seen on the field, but the talent is in place to make that kind of a run.

A lot of the team’s success or lack thereof will rest on the arm of Rodgers. He suffered through two disappointing seasons with the New York Jets, but looked good individually in 2024.

During the 2024 season, Rodgers completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Coming off of a torn Achilles in 2023, that performance was impressive.
Now, in what he has openly stated will be his final NFL season, Rodgers is looking to make one more run at his second Super Bowl.
With training camp running on all cylinders, Rodgers spoke out without hesitation about head coach Mike Tomlin. He has previously opened up about the fact that Tomlin was one of the main reasons he chose to sign with the Steelers.
“Mike Tomlin is the man,” Rodgers said. “From day one, I wasn’t talking to a coach. I was talking to a friend.”
Tomlin has faced scrutiny in recent years. In fact, some believe that he is on the hot seat entering the 2025 season. Whether or not Pittsburgh feels that way remains unknown.

Since taking over as the Steelers’ head coach back in the 2007 NFL season, Tomlin has led the franchise to a 183-107-2 record and a Super Bowl win. He still has yet to suffer a losing season in Pittsburgh.
It will be interesting to see how the 2025 season plays out for the Steelers. Rodgers and Tomlin are clearly excited to team up and they firmly believe that the team can win it all.
Only time will tell, but Pittsburgh fans have a lot of reason to be excited and optimistic.
