Plane Forced to Land After Passenger Makes Bomb Threat
A plane flying from Dallas to Chicago made an emergency landing in St. Louis after a passenger told the flight crew there was a bomb in his wife’s luggage, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on Sunday morning.
The United Airlines flight departed from Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport shortly before 7 a.m. and then landed unexpectedly at Lambert St. Louis International Airport at around 8:40 a.m., where the flight crew evacuated all passengers so bomb and arson units could search the plane.
The passenger, an unidentified male, is in custody, and no passengers have reported any injuries, according to the airport’s director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge.
The bomb and arson crews were still searching the plane at around 11 a.m. local time.
Newsweek reached out to Lambert St. Louis International Airport by email on Sunday morning for further information.
