Pokémon TCG Pocket Space-Time Smackdown Expansion Announced, Adds Card Trading
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Pokémon TCG Pocket’s next expansion is Space-Time Smackdown, adding new cards and highly-anticipated features on January 30, 2025. The expansion comes a month after the last major update, Mythical Island.
Pokémon TCGP players will finally be able to trade their digital cards with each other, and the good news is that the feature is arriving one day early. Card trading will be live in the game starting January 29, 2025.
Trading cards will require two new resources: trade hourglasses and trade tokens. Only cards with rarities of ♦1-4 and ★1 can be traded with cards having the same rarity, so players can’t abuse the system to get better cards. Players will also be able to trade cards between the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island expansion sets.
As for the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, the update will add various Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. The expansion includes two new booster packs, which include Dialga and Palkia. It will also include a new binder and display board covers starring those two Pokémon.
