The Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda has died 11 days after he was critically injured in a road accident, Indian media reported.
Jawanda, 35, crashed while riding a motorcycle through Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on September 27 and has been in the hospital since.
Indian politician Amarinder Singh Raja Warring paid tribute to Jawanda in a post on X.
“We all prayed for his speedy recovery but sadly god had other plans,” the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee said.
“My heart goes out to his family, friends and fans who are shattered with this tragic loss. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to his loved ones to bear this tragic loss. RIP.”
Neeru Bajwa, the Canadian-Indian actress and director, said in a post on Instagram she was “heartbroken by the tragic loss of such a young and promising life.”
“Sending deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of @rajvirjawandaofficial. May you find strength and peace during this unimaginable time. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten,” Bajwa said.
