Reality Star Gives Kim Kardashian Advice on Custody With Kanye West

Bethenny Frankel is stepping in with some love and advice for Kim Kardashian amidst the drama surrounding her ex-husband, Kanye West.

Following West’s latest release, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” in which he featured their 11-year-old daughter, North West and the convicted rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, Frankel — who has firsthand experience with complex custody battles, and called herself an “expert” — offered Kardashian, 44, some advice for dealing with the situation.

Frankel, 54, who fought through her own decade-long divorce from ex-husband Jason Hoppy, shared her insights via Instagram on Sunday, March 16, saying that the reality star should not be directly communicating with West, 47.

“Kim is texting Kanye, who is not a rational person, and she’s texting him as if he’s a rational person,” Frankel stated in the video. “She should be speaking to him by proxy. Someone else should be the one interacting with him because, again, he’s not rational. He’s sharing her texts, and that’s a violation.” Frankel’s remarks come after West shared screenshots of Kardashian’s messages to him regarding North over the weekend.

The Real Housewives of New York City alum’s advice didn’t stop there. She strongly recommended that the SKIMS founder focus less on the trademark dispute involving North’s name and more on securing legal decision-making rights. “It’s the most crucial aspect of any divorce,” Frankel explained, referring to the importance of who has authority over major decisions regarding medical care, education, and religion. She stressed that if Kardashian were granted decision-making rights, she would have much more power than any trademark agreement would offer. “What’s most critical is decision making,” she lamented.

Fans seemingly agreed with the Skinny Girl founder, and expressed their opinions in the comments of the video.

“She really chose the wrong man to have children with,” one noted, while another said, “There is no rational parent in this situation.”

A third stated, “Kim is literally studying law and has a team of lawyer around her. I think she will be good 😊.”

Others commented on the delicious looking fruit salad Frankel appeared to be preparing in the video. “I’m more interested in the snack being put together – need the details ❤️,” said one, while another agreed, “I now want a fruit salad🤪.”

Kardashian was married to West from May 2014 to March 2022. During their 8-year marriage, the duo welcomed four children including North; Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, – the latter two born via surrogate.
