Red Sox’s $182M Star Predicted To Bolt For Tigers After Sonny Gray Trade
The Boston Red Sox made the first big move of their offseason by swinging a huge trade with the St. Louis Cardinals for Sonny Gray. Gray joins the rotation alongside a few solid arms, with Garrett Crochet sitting at the top.
But the Red Sox need to continue making moves during the winter months, or else they’re at risk of missing the postseason next season. The biggest storyline of the Red Sox’s offseason is Alex Bregman and his free agency.
Andrew Tredinnick of NorthJersey.com recently predicted Bregman would ditch the Red Sox and sign a deal with the Detroit Tigers instead. Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently projected Bregman would sign a massive $182 million deal this winter.

“With one more year of Tarik Skubal to make a splash, A.J. Hinch gets a familiar weapon for his lineup,” Tredinnick wrote.
The Tigers need to make a serious run at the World Series during their last season with Tarik Skubal under contract. Skubal is seemingly the team’s top priority, but they should try to win with him on the roster.
Bregman would fill a huge hole at third base in Detroit. The Tigers need a star like him to hit in the middle of the lineup while playing good defense at an important position. There are few players in the game who can play both ways as well as Bregman.
