Released WWE Superstar Makes AEW Debut
Another former WWE Superstar has made their debut in All Elite Wrestling. The surprise appearance came during the special “Title Tuesday” edition of AEW Dynamite on October 7.
The show, which took place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, featured an open challenge from TBS Champion Mercedes Moné. Fans were left guessing who would answer the call.
The challenger was revealed to be Lacey Lane, who was formerly known as Kayden Carter during her time in WWE. The appearance marked her official debut for the AEW brand.

Lane was released from her WWE contract earlier this year alongside her long-time tag team partner, Katana Chance. Since her departure, she has competed for AEW’s sister promotion, Ring of Honor, and is scheduled for a future match against Mina Shirakawa for the ROH Interim Women’s World Television Title.
During her WWE career, Lane was a fixture of the NXT brand. Teaming with Katana Chance, the duo became one of the most popular teams in the division, eventually capturing the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. They were later called up to the main roster as part of the Raw brand before their release.
In her AEW debut match, Lane had an impressive showing against one of the top stars in the industry. She was ultimately unsuccessful in her bid to defeat Mercedes Moné for the TBS Championship.
Despite the loss, Lacey Lane’s strong performance has made a statement to the AEW women’s locker room. With the Full Gear pay-per-view just weeks away, she has immediately positioned herself as a credible new contender in a division that includes stars like AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, creating a host of new potential matchups.
