Rescue Dog Who ‘Fit Right in’ With New Sibling Melts Hearts
The moment an owner captured a video of his two rescue dogs playing together he realised that the second one “fit right in” and that he’d made the right decision.
A March 12 Reddit post by user Misanthropemoot to the subreddit channel r/aww showed two dogs play fighting together on a bed. Their mouths stayed wide open as they took turns rolling on top of each other, a sign they were only playing. The pure joy from both of their expressions showed they were no strangers to having fun.
The owner told Newsweek via Reddit that the two rescues instantly became friends after he brought home Sasha, the black and white dog. It only took a few days before they became “best buds.” What makes their bond even more special is that Sasha and Maya, the tan and white dog, were rescued from the same animal shelter.

The precious Reddit video melted hearts and had amassed over 810 upvotes as of Monday, with viewers touched by their style of play.
“I love when dogs play by just flailing their toothy maws at each other,” commented one Reddit user.
Another pointed out: “Very cute, each taking turns rolling under.”
A third person said: “They’re so silly (I love them).”
Introducing New Dogs to Current Ones
Dog owners often want to bring home another canine to keep their first one company, and while dogs are social creatures, taking the proper steps to introduce them to one another will ensure they have a better and stronger relationship.
An article from the American Kennel Club suggests adding a crate, exercise pen or doggy gates before bringing home the new dog as this will get your other canine used to an upcoming change. Have the two dogs meet in a natural place that’s away from your dog’s established home because they could become territorial about their space if a new canine walks in. Try walking them on leashes in the yard before going inside together.
Be sure to always supervise interactions between the dogs, especially with puppies. This is because pups likely do not understand the rules set in place by adult dogs yet and could overstep boundaries. Finally, reward both dogs for appropriate behavior.
