Russia Accuses NATO Country of Threatening Putin’s Plane: ‘Terrorist Acts’

Moscow has accused Poland of threatening to allow “terrorist acts” against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s plane.

“The Poles are now ready to commit terrorist acts themselves,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday, according to Russian state media TASS. “I have recently heard that Mr. [Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw] Sikorski threatened that the security of Putin’s plane would not be guaranteed in Polish airspace if he flew to Budapest for the proposed summit with [US President Donald] Trump.”

Lavrov added that an official court decision in Poland “essentially justifies the terrorist attack on Nord Stream,” the natural gas pipeline that runs from Russia to Germany, which was attacked in 2022. “Now the foreign minister is saying that if the Polish court demands it, they will block the free movement of the Russian leader’s plane.”
