Seahawks Lose Key Player to NFL Suspension Following Win Over Rams

The Seattle Seahawks secured their biggest win of the NFL season on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams, overcoming a 30–14 deficit in the fourth quarter to win 38–37 in overtime.

With the victory, Seattle improved to 12–3 and now holds the outright lead in the NFC West with just two games remaining in the regular season.

However, the team will be without a key player in Week 16 when they travel to Carolina to face the Panthers. The NFL announced on Friday that starting linebacker Derick Hall has been suspended for one game after allegedly committing “an act of unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct” by stepping on Rams right guard Kevin Dotson.

Dotson was carted off and did not return to the game, marking a significant loss for Seattle as they near a divisional title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs, which would secure home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

Hall will be eligible to return beginning Dec. 29, following the Panthers game, meaning he will remain off the active roster for the upcoming week.

Hall recorded three solo tackles and two assisted tackles against the Rams on Thursday night. He has tallied just 1.0 sack this season, a drop-off from his 8.0-sack campaign in 2024 with Seattle. Hall has appeared in 13 of the team’s 15 games this season.
