Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., has sharply condemned the escalating unrest in Los Angeles, warning that Democrats risk losing the moral high ground if they fail to denounce the violence. His remarks, posted on X, have drawn reactions across the political spectrum, including responses from Elon Musk and other officials.

Federal officers were “overrun” as a protest against federal immigration raids in Santa Ana, California, escalated and turned violent on Monday, local police said.
“The situation has escalated, and what began as a lawful assembly around the Civic Center Plaza, has escalated into objects being thrown towards officers and other members of the public, posing a risk to public safety, property, and the well-being of our community,” the City of Santa Ana said in a statement.
Federal agents deployed tear gas, pepper balls, and rubber bullets in response.
The anti-ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, protests in Santa Ana followed those in downtown Los Angeles, where President Trump has federalized and deployed California’s National Guard.
The top federal prosecutor in Southern California, Bill Essayli, “contacted our City to request assistance because federal agents were being overrun at the federal building,” the statement added.
