Brian Matthew Faughan, U.S. vice consul in Monterrey, has died in Mexico, officials in the country said.
Faughan, 41, died in a car accident on Wednesday, July 9.
His death was confirmed by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Coahuila, ABC News Mexico reported.
Lorena de la Garza, president of the Nuevo León state Congress, said she deeply regretted Faughan’s passing in a post on X.
“My condolences to his family, friends, and work team,” she wrote. “May he rest in peace.”
