South Africa Tavern Shooting: What We Know After At least 9 Killed
At least nine people have been killed and another 10 injured in a shooting at a tavern west of the South African city of Johannesburg on Sunday.
The South African Police Service said early on Sunday its officers had launched a manhunt for suspects in a “multiple shooting incident” shortly before 1 a.m. local time in Bekkersdal.
Police said roughly 12 unknown suspects had arrived at the scene in two vehicles and “opened fire at tavern patrons.”
The suspects “continued to shoot randomly as they fled the scene,” officials said.
This is a developing story. More to follow.
