The No. 6 seeded Steelers (10-7) are taking on the No. 3 seeded Ravens (12-5) in an AFC North battle.
The Ravens and Steelers met twice this season, with both teams winning their respective home games. The Steelers beat the Ravens, 18-16, in Week 11, while the Ravens beat the Steelers, 34-17, in Week 16.
The Steelers, at one point 8-2, finished the season on a four-game losing streak. The Ravens, on the other hand, finished the season on a four-game winning streak to clinch the division.
The Ravens won a Divisional Round game last season, before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. The Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since 2016, losing their last five contests. Here’s how the staff predicts this game will shake out.
Matt Levine: We have a classic AFC North rivalry game in the Wild Card round and a rematch from a few years ago. Baltimore and Pittsburgh have met in the postseason a few times and it’s always a fun contest. The two teams split the season series this year, with each winning on their own home field. Baltimore dominated Pittsburgh the last time out and the Steelers enter this game on a losing streak. The Ravens have been the better team and will down their rival in the postseason.
Prediction: Ravens 20, Steelers 17
Noah Camras: The Steelers and Ravens always play tight games, especially when the stakes are highest. This game will be gritty, but in the end, potential three-time MVP in quarterback Lamar Jackson will be too much for the Steelers offense to keep up with. After starting the season 8-2 and looking like a true Super Bowl contender, the Steelers won’t even win a playoff game, leading to more questions about their quarterback position for next year.
Prediction: Ravens 27, Steelers 17
