Steelers WR Van Jefferson Questionable to Return With Significant Leg Injury
The Pittsburgh Steelers are taking on the Cleveland Browns in an important divisional matchup. A win on Thursday night would place them further ahead in the AFC North race.

Though the Steelers are favored to win, they will have to do so without wide receiver Van Jefferson. Jefferson is now questionable to return to the game with a significant leg injury.
Jefferson has brought in 139 yards and one touchdown through the first 10 games of the season. Now, the former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver will have to heal up completely before taking the field again.
Jefferson had popped up on the injury report in Week 11, but was able to transition into a full participant by Friday. He was only targeted once in that game. Now, he will have to presumably sit out for the rest of Thursday Night Football.
Reporters on the field indicated that Jefferson was on the exercise bike attempting to work out the quad injury that has been plaguing him, but it appears the injury has not let up enough for him to return to action.
As stated, the Steelers are attempting to place themselves farther ahead in the AFC North. Pittsburgh is currently 8-2 on the season, which is a game and a half ahead of the second-place Baltimore Ravens. A big win on Thursday would place the team in a great place to secure a playoff berth.
The Steelers began the season with a 4-2 record under the leadership of quarterback Justin Fields. Russell Wilson began the season with a calf injury he sustained in training camp. After six games, Wilson finally healed up enough and took over as starter.
Since then, Wilson has led the Steelers to five straight wins. One of their most significant came in Week 11, as they took down the surging Ravens. Now, they will look to secure another important divisional matchup against the Browns.
Pittsburgh has been one of the biggest surprises of 2024. Though people expected them to be a solid team, no one expected them to be leading the AFC alongside the likes of the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Steelers have taken down the Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, and Washington Commanders. These have been their most formidable opponents thus far.
Next up on the Steelers’ schedule is the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Browns again. Three straight divisional wins might all but secure the AFC North division.
