Suns’ Kevin Durant Will Miss Multiple Weeks After Suffering Calf Strain

The Phoenix Suns are off to a hot start to the season; however, they will now be without one of their superstars for some time.
Phoenix Suns superstar forward Kevin Durant suffered a left calf strain on Friday night and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Durant has led the Suns to an 8-1 start and first place in the Western Conference.
Durant has been playing at an MVP-type caliber level through nine games this season. He has averaged 27.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 55.3 percent from the field and 43 percent from three. He has shown that he is still at the top of the basketball world, but now, he will be sidelined for at least two weeks.
In the meantime, fellow superstars Devin Booker and Bradley Beal will need to carry the load until Durant gets back to keep the Suns in that first seed in the West. Durant suffered the injury on Friday night in their 114-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks. He finished with 26 points in 37 minutes.
Durant has been huge for the Suns. He is leading the team in scoring and has delivered in the clutch time and time again. On top of that, he also leads the team in blocks, averaging 1.4 blocks with his tall frame.
The future Hall of Famer is one of the all-time greats, and we will see him in Springfield once he decides to hang up his sneakers. Durant is with his fourth NBA team of his career and his second full season in Phoenix.
Since arriving in the desert, Durant has averaged 27.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 92 games for the Suns in his career. Last season, Durant played in 75 games, the most he had played since the 2018-19 season with the Warriors when he played in 78 games.
Durant averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.2 blocks while finishing ninth in MVP voting, an All-Star appearance, and was named to the NBA All-Second Team in the 2023-24 season.
The 36-year-old has done it all in the NBA and then some, being named a 14-time All-Star, four-time scoring champion, two-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, 11-time All-NBA, 2013-14 NBA MVP, and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
The Suns have the depth and star power to keep their head above water while Durant is out.
