Tarik Skubal Prediction: Dodgers, Mets Miss Out On Trade For Superstar Ace
The Detroit Tigers and their ace, Tarik Skubal, have been in the headlines quite a bit over the last few weeks.
Skubal is entering the final year of his contract and the Tigers might not have the money to sign him to a new deal. As a result, Skubal’s name has been mixed in trade rumors, including some buzz with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets.
Will the Tigers look to trade Skubal? Will one of these powerhouse teams land him in a trade before next season?

Prediction: Tigers opt to hold onto Tarik Skubal rather than trade him
It’s a very tough decision for the Tigers to make, but Skubal is ultimately too talented to trade right now. The Tigers are one of the best teams in the American League right now, especially when Skubal is on the mound. Trading him would only make sense if they’re completely out of the sweepstakes to sign him next winter.
The Tigers should continue working to sign him to a new contract with every ounce of their being. Keeping him on the roster and signing him to a massive $300 million extension would be the best case scenario.
There’s a chance the Tigers trade him if they receive a ridiculous trade return with multiple stars, but that hasn’t been the case to this point.
