‘Terrified’ Paige Spiranac Takes on New Role at PGA Tour Creator Classic
This season, the PGA Tour will host three new Creator Classics, where influencers will compete against each other on iconic courses. The first event will be at TPC Sawgrass, ahead of the Players Championship.
It was a shock not to see Paige Spiranac’s name on the list after she played in the first Creator Classic last year ahead of the Tour Championship.
With such a massive following on social media, Spiranac, who is not afraid to let her thoughts be known, moves the influencer needle. She needs to be involved in any golf content creator event.
She may not play but will still be in Florida as an on-course analyst for the event.
The 31-year-old joined Dan Rapaport on his podcast, Dan on Golf, earlier this month to discuss multiple topics, including her first on-course role.
“I am really excited. I think it’s going to be an amazing opportunity. It is unlike anything that I have done before, so I am a little bit nervous about that part of it,” she said.

Spiranac wanted to play, but the competitor inside of her made her reevaluate.
“It’s cold where I live and my game wasn’t in great plain shape to tackle on Sawgrass and I was like, ‘I wonder if they would let me do on course and they were really receptive to the idea and I couldn’t be more excited,” Spiranac said.
Last year, she finished ninth in the 16-man field. Spiranac was four shots off the winner, Wesley Bryan and three from reaching the playoff. However, the Colorado native had to regroup after a tough start.
Spiranac previously competed on the Cactus Tour in 2016 and won one of the events that year. But, after an eight-year hiatus, teeing off in front of people was intimidating.
“I was terrified on the first tee. I was shaking,” Spiranac explained. “I started out really rocky… I was like, ‘Can I play professionally?’ Then I went bogey, bogey and I was like ‘Nope, I’ll stick to content.'”
She is one of the social media stars on the new PGA Tour Creator Council. It is a 10-member group comprised of the top golf content creators.
Spiranac, Tisha Alyn, Roger Steele, Erik Anders Lang, Bryan Bros Golf, Bob Does Sports, Barstool’s Fore Play podcast, and No Laying Up are on the council.
Their role is to address “fan engagement strategies, collaborative content opportunities, PGA Tour media regulations, PGA Tour event/broadcast enhancements and Creator Classic evolution.”
The TPC Sawgrass Creator Classic format is the same as it was for the Tour Championship in Atlanta. They will play eight holes of stroke play that begins on the par-4 10th. It will end on the iconic 17th island green. Then the sudden death playoff will repeat the 17th hole.
The second Classic of the year will be ahead of the Truist Championship at Wissahickon in May. They’ll bring it full circle for the third Creator Classic of 2025 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta ahead of the Tour Championship.
