Timothée Chalamet Makes Crucial Career Decision After Oscars Loss
Timothée Chalamet is ready for his next big swing.
Last weekend, Chalamet took it on the chin during the Academy Awards ceremony, where he was the butt of many jokes at his expense.
Following his offhand comments about the struggling opera and ballet industries, the “Marty Supreme” leading man was at the center of controversy throughout the past month, all coming to a head on what was believed to be the biggest night of his life.
Instead of winning the Best Actor award at the Oscars, as he was the heavy favorite to do at the end of 2025, he sat near the front of the stage as his peer, Michael B. Jordan, won for his performance in “Sinners.”
But after a tough night, Chalamet has done the opposite of what many thought he’d do: he’s only been more active.
Earlier in the week, he was once again at the forefront of pop culture with the unveiling of the first “Dune: Part Three” trailer.
And now, as the week ends, Chalamet is pointing towards the future with the announcement of the next film he might star in and produce.

Timothée Chalamet will produce (and potentially star) in an adaptation of the novel ‘Playground’ by Richard Powers for Warner Bros.
‘Playground’ follows main character Todd Keane and his college friends from the University of Illinois to Silicon Valley to the remote Polynesian island of Makatea, where the future of technology threatens the ways of old.
Although Chalamet isn’t confirmed to play Keane in the movie, it is rumored that he might take on the lead role in this upcoming adaptation.
The mind-bending novel received strong reviews, with fans believing the film could challenge for the Academy Awards if given the right treatment.
