Trump Administration Issues New Warning to China Over Taiwan
The Trump administration on Wednesday warned China to halt military pressure on Taiwan, saying Beijing’s actions and rhetoric are raising tensions unnecessarily in the region. The statement reaffirmed U.S. opposition to “unilateral changes to the status quo, including by force or coercion.” It comes amid heightened friction between Washington and Beijing following recent Chinese military drills near the island, which China claims as its territory.
