Two American stars get engaged amid Olympic Gold Medal Chase
During the Winter Olympics, love seems to be in the air as a couple of Americans got engaged on Wednesday in the middle of the action.
Hilary Knight, a hockey player on the women’s team, and Brittany Bowe, a speed skater, have agreed to marry, forming what they hope will be a lasting union.
“Olympics brought us together,” Knight wrote in an Instagram post to reveal the news and show off the brand new rock. “This one made us forever.”
Bowe is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, while Knight has four medals to her name, three silver and one gold. On Thursday, February 19th, Knight has the chance to add another gold medal to her name when the U.S. takes on Canada in the final.

Bowe, on the other hand, has a chance on Friday to secure a medal and will now set her sights on the Women’s Speedskating 1500m race.
With a chance to hold for both in the coming days, the Bowe-Knight household will need more space if they are successful in their remaining events.
How Brittany Bowe and Hilary Knight met at the Winter Olympics
Initially, Bowe and Knight were friends, but their relationship grew after spending so much time together during the Beijing 2022 Winter Games.
“It was just a really good way to get to know her, going for walks, getting out of our suites,” Knight told Olympics.com.
“To have that human connection, even walking outside at a distance, it was really cool.”
As for Bowe, she noted that approaching a hockey player was intimidating at first, though she grew to learn her softer side.
“We really got to know each other in Beijing and have really been inseparable ever since,” Bowe said, regarding her side of getting to know Knight.
“Knowing her as a hockey player, it’s like this big, strong, powerful female. But then, when we got to know each other, she was soft, genuine, kind, almost shy. That really sparked my interest.”
Now, the two made a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together.
