President Donald Trump ripped into the Democrats during his State of the Union address Tuesday night, telling them they should ‘be ashamed’ of themselves for sitting as he listed off accomplishments and called for funding.
In response, Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, and Rashida Tlaib, a Democratic Congresswoman from Michigan, yelled back, calling the President a “liar.”
Video showed Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly and Omar among the dozens of Democrats sitting as Trump called for people to agree with him.
Trump said that those who agree that “the first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens” should stand.
“Isn’t that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up,” the president scolded.
He continued to list issues he has with the Democrats, adding, “these people are crazy.”
