J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings were hoping to come through with a huge NFC North win over the Chicago Bears in Week 11 NFL action. Unfortunately, that wasn’t in the cards for them.
Instead, the Vikings fell to 4-6 on the season with a 19-17 loss to the Bears. McCarthy once again failed to come through with a good all-around performance.
Throughout the course of the game, the second-year quarterback completed just 16 of his 32 pass attempts for 150 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Those numbers simply are not going to win very many football games at the NFL level.

With the loss, Minnesota is now in trouble when it comes to the NFC playoff picture. The Vikings will have a very difficult road ahead with an uphill battle to make the playoffs.
Following the game, Minnesota legend Cris Carter did not hold back on social media when talking about McCarthy.
Emmanuel Acho was praising McCarthy for his late-game touchdown pass. However, Carter wasn’t having any of it. Instead, the Vikings’ longtime star wide receiver made it clear that the young quarterback played a bad game.
“Did you watch the first 59 mins?” Carter questioned, while including a thumbs down emoji.
Needless to say, Carter is siding with the many Vikings fans who have become frustrated with McCarthy’s play. Minnesota may have rushed McCarthy onto the field too quickly, especially after he missed his entire rookie campaign due to a knee injury.
So far this season, the 22-year-old signal caller has completed 52.9 percent of his passes for 842 yards, six touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He has shown some flashes of the potential that made the Vikings select him at No. 10 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, those flashes have been extremely inconsistent.

For Minnesota to make a comeback and get into the playoffs, it will need much better play at the quarterback position.
Next up for the Vikings will be a very difficult road matchup against another NFC North division rival. This time, they will head to Green Bay for a matchup against the Packers. McCarthy will need to bring his best for Minnesota to come out with a win in that game.
