What Cat Owner Walks In on 20lb Feline Doing to 5lb Kitten Goes Viral
A cat owner from New Jersey revealed what she found her 5-year-old feline doing to her little kitten, and internet users can’t cope with it.
In a viral video shared on TikTok earlier in April under the username @bent_and_beau, the bigger cat can be seen sitting down on top of the small kitten, who soon manages to escape and attack her big brother from behind.
“When you walk in on your 20lb cat sitting on your 5lb kitten,” reads layover text in the clip. A caption says: “Hmm what was Bentley trying to do here.”
The owner of the cats, Lauren, 29, told Newsweek that it didn’t take long for her felines, Bentley and 5-month-old Beau, to become obsessed with each other after being introduced, and now they spend all day together.

“They do everything together and snuggles usually end in play cat fights. I walked in on Bentley (he is 20.2 lbs) sitting on top of Beau (5lbs). It truly looked like he was suffocating him, but they were just playing!” she said.
“Beau can hold his own and usually is the instigator so I’m glad Bentley stood up for himself, usually he’s the one getting beat up! It’ll be funny to watch them go at it when they are both the same size.”
There’s nothing more adorable than watching two felines play with each other, even when it gets a bit rough. However, their games can sometimes escalate into real fights. So how can you tell whether they’re still playing or if it’s turned serious?
Cats Protection explains that when cats are playing, their interaction is usually silent, gentle (including gentle biting), calm, and reciprocal. Moreover, after playing, your cats will return to normal with no signs of tension or aggression.
On the other hand, when things have gone south, your cats will show aggressive body language or sounds, including flattened ears, a tense body posture, swishing tail, and sounds such as growling, hissing, or screeching.
When this happens, don’t try to separate them physically. Instead, distract them with a toy or by making a loud noise to pause the fight and avoid touching the cats or getting too close to them until they cool off.
The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 1.3 million views and 293,400 likes on the platform.
One user, Ch’ulel Jaguar, commented: “He knew exactly what he was [doing].”
Lomein said: “Why are cats like this.”
Tatum added: “I think it’s clear who started it.”
