What Husband Has Done for Wife Every Week for 68 Years Melts Hearts
An 89-year-old man, married to his wife for 68 years, has shared a heartwarming piece of relationship advice that is capturing the hearts of thousands.
In a viral TikTok video posted by the man, he explained the importance of never “settling” when it comes to love, and his commitment to his wife is a testament to his words. Since the video was posted, it has received over 350,000 views and more than 37,000 likes.
“POV: Never settle. I’ve bought my wife flowers every Friday for 68 years. I always write her a note telling her what I loved about her that week,” he says in the video, which shows him purchasing a bouquet of flowers and writing a heartfelt note.

In the comments section, the man said his wife will turn 85 in April, as he spoke of a “true blessing.”
He wrote that his dedication to his wife is further demonstrated by the fact that she has kept every single note he has written for her over the years. Their love story has inspired countless viewers, with many sharing their own thoughts on enduring relationships.
“My dad brought my mom flowers every week, even when she had dementia and knew nothing of them,” one person shared in the comments. “He still buys them every week to put next to her urn. He says she’s a woman that deserves flowers.”
Others echoed sentiments of admiration and longing, with one person writing: “Omg, men like this don’t exist anymore, this is true love. What a lucky amazing couple they are. Absolutely adorable.”
“My husband has ‘Flower Friday,'” another shared. “It’s so lovely you did this for so long. Happy wife, happy life.”
Not all of the comments were positive, as some questioned the cost of such gestures, but one defender stood strong: “Why say waste of money?” they asked. “I think it’s beautiful. Why so negative? This man is still showing his love and care after 68 years. I would say you’re jealous. We all need a bit of this love and what a soulmate.”
The video and the comments that followed highlighted the universal need for appreciation in relationships. One TikToker wrote: “All women want to feel appreciated…thank you for doing your bit. This is what every woman wants. Makes me realise my worth and losing people that don’t make the effort is sad. I would love a hug.” In response, the creator sent the woman a virtual “hug.”
For this couple, their love story is a reminder that even after nearly seven decades of marriage, acts of affection continue to make all the difference.
