Why ‘Family Feud’ Fans Are Roasting the Show
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Family Feud fans have a lot of thoughts about a recent survey question after a clip was uploaded to the show’s YouTube channel on Monday, December 16.
In the video, host Steve Harvey asks the two contestants, Katie and Marcus, to “Name something a cheap guy might use to pierce his own nipple.” While reading the sentence for their face-off, Harvey could hardly contain his laughter. Neither could the viewers who watched it, who had plenty of reactions to it.
“I’ve seen A LOT of dumb questions in this show but this one takes the trophy as the stupidest and weirdest question ever asked,” one YouTube user commented.
Another added, “Have they run out of questions for this show? Best to call it a day n close instead of putting these stupid questions out there.”
Another fan of the game show also pointed out, “Is it worse than ‘Which of the seven dwarfs describe your wife in bed?'”
A lot of the other comments on the YouTube video shared the same thought, with one user even thinking it was a gross and disgraceful question to ask, considering the wording of it. “This is a new low for this supposed family show.. yuck,” they wrote.
As for the answers, Katie buzzed first and guessed “pin,” earning the second-place answer on the board. This gave Marcus the chance to guess “needle,” the first-place answer, and he decided to have his family play the remainder of the round.
Marcus and the rest of the Russell family correctly got the third answer on the board with “nail,” but struggled to solve the fourth and final answer to Harvey’s outlandish question.
It ultimately passed to Katie and the Shields, who incorrectly guessed “earring,” allowing the Russell family to win the round.
The final answer on the Family Feud board was “stapler.” As for viewing other Family Feud episodes, fans can watch it live on GSN, or stream it through DirecTV, Hulu+ live TV, or other platforms.
