We are holding space for Wicked: For Good today because Universal treated CinemaCon audiences to a special first look at the upcoming film.
The film’s stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, were in attendance at the event, with director Jon M. Chu, and producer Marc Platt, who were there to reveal the trailer to the audience for the first time.

Wicked: For Good Trailer
Audiences in attendance at CinemaCon were the first to see the trailer for Wicked: For Good, which teases two fan-favorite songs; “No Good Deed” and “For Good“.
The trailer opens with Elphaba and Glinda facing off at Elphaba’s home in the Emerald City, and we see the revolution that Elphaba has been the catalyst for, as per Discussing Film.
Audiences were also teased with Glinda’s wedding, which shows her marriage to Fiyero, and there were more The Wizard of Oz nods as Dorothy appears in the trailer with the Lion, the Tin-Man, and the Scarecrow.
When Will the Wicked: For Good Trailer Release?
The trailer for Wicked: For Good was first shown to audiences at CinemaCon, but a date for its wider release is yet to be announced.
The Wicked trailer was released in May 2024, so there’s a chance Wicked: For Good‘s trailer will be released around the same time this year.
Wicked: For Good Poster
The first official poster for the film has been released, featuring Elphaba and Glinda on opposite sides, a complete juxtaposition from the first film’s poster.
What Will Happen in Wicked: For Good?
Fans of the Broadway musical will be well aware of what happens in the second act of Wicked. If the film follows in the musical’s footsteps, we will see Glinda and Fiyero get married while Glinda crumbles at the devastation of being separated from her closest friend, Elphaba.
Elphaba, who has been villainized throughout the land, is on a mission to undo the Wizard’s cruelty to the animals of Oz.
However, as the first half of Wicked added in tidbits from Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel that the musical is based upon, it is expected that Wicked: For Good will likely do the same.

Wicked: For Good will be in theaters on November 21, 2025.
