Woman Rescues Dog, Finds Human Bite Mark on His Head
A dog’s story of abuse before being rescued shared on TikTok left viewers wondering how people could be so cruel to animals.
TikTok user @zahidewonthistrend.1 came across a person selling a 6-month-old puppy named Theo online. The dog’s eyes were filled with sadness. She saw what horrible shape he was in, covered with marks and cuts all over his body. He appeared to be inching closer to “death’s door.”
Plus, the person held Theo in the picture like an object. She immediately knew she needed to rescue him.
The caption on her March 30 video explained that Theo’s previous owner starved him to the point that he could barely walk. She noticed his nose was cut and his ear ripped in half. But what shocked her was the human bite mark on his head. Upon further investigation, she realized bite marks covered his body.
Theo sat in his new owner’s car with his head down. After a life of abuse, he became fearful. He did not like being around men. He gets spooked by sudden noises or when the wind blows the door shut. He struggles to walk, as his leg has became permanently damaged and he has ear issues.
But with his new owner’s help and assistance from her late dog, Theo turned a corner. He learned about patience. He was surrounded by love, kisses and cuddles. His owner constantly reassures him and tells him that he’s the bravest dog.
Newsweek reached out to @zahidewonthistrend.1 via TikTok for additional information.
@zahidewonthistrend.1 He was being sold online after being abused .. he was starved, practically on deaths door, couldnt walk, cobered in human bite marks , his nose was cut, his ear ripped in half .. i went and got him instantly .. paid the money and took him I was in floods of tears and my heart was shattered. I didnt know then whag i know now about profiting fron animals . I wish i would have done more at the time and im ashamed to say i did not .. after rescuing him he was my sole fo us and i didnt even contemplate there may be other puppys or dogs held by that monster . I have since with a broken heart wducated myself … Humans can be so unbelievably cruel it shatters my heart. Please look out for fur babies and take appropriate actions if you witness anything untoward. The quickest to respond for welfare check and removal from the property is police Report online or by phone Rspca are only open during set hours and only attend to a number of calls.. they are inundated, they can only act urgently if the animal is witnessed neglected for 24 hour period but please call them regilarly regularly You can report to animal welfare on your local council via online as this takes a few days Theres so many online that even sell furbanys including cats kittens puppys and elderly or vulnerable dogs as BAIT for other dogs Report or take action if you see anything i beg you. Look out for our fur babies . Dont let another sustain The abuse my poor boy did #rescue #rescuedogs #rescuestory #theothestafffy #staffy #staffies #dog #dogs #rescuedogs #fyp #sad #upsetting #sorry #heartbroken #fu #xyz

The owner shared in the caption that after rescuing Theo, she researched more about the world of animal cruelty. She regrets not saying something to the dog’s previous owner, saying the person likely abused other canines like Theo.
Her page is now dedicated to sharing Theo’s story and advocating for other dogs in need of rescue. She encourages others to report animal cruelty to their local officials and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or RSPCA.
She wrote: “Report or take action if you see anything, I beg you. Look out for our fur babies. Don’t let another sustain the abuse my poor boy did.”
The TikTok video, which brought in over 139,500 views, left people wondering how humans could be so cruel to animals.
“Rest well now sweet baby. Time is a wonderful healer,” said a viewer.
Another added: “That’s made me cry that someone can do that to you poor baby, I’m so glad that you are in a loving home now with your mummy.”
A third person commented: “People are evil, but fortunately, there are still kind people in the world. Thank goodness he was saved.”
