‘Worst Ever’: March Madness Opening Round Blasted After ‘Boring’ Results
Every year, when the March Madness bracket is released, it turns even the least imaginative person into a lover of fantasy.
A blank bracket is like a canvas that everyone, from children to grandparents, can paint on, crafting their own story through their decisions.
You can color within the lines by picking favorites, or you can think about how fun the opening days will be with chaos everywhere as top teams fall to underdogs. You can even just pick teams with dog logos, if that’s your choice.
But after the first two days of the men’s college basketball extravaganza, there has been more white chalk than a flurry of colors spread across the once blank parchment.
Although there was early excitement on Thursday when High Point took down Wisconsin as a No. 12 seed, that was the highest seed to make it through the first round of the tournament.
No. 16 seed Siena put a mighty scare into the Duke Blue Devils, but the historic program overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to pull away in the final minutes.

On Friday, although there were some close games, especially with the craziness that was Santa Clara versus Kentucky, the end results were straightforward.
All 16 odds-on favorites won on the second day of the opening round, with the only two “upsets” being favored No. 9 seeds taking down their No. 8 rivals.
After one of the least topsy-turvy days in March Madness history, fans converged on social media to let their thoughts be known.
Although many fans were disappointed with how the first round went, the upside of fewer underdogs is that the upcoming games will feature more high-quality matchups that could go either way.
While the first few days can make a March Madness tournament legendary, it can’t ruin one. With so many stories and matchups to go, the next chapter of this story will begin tomorrow when top-seeded Michigan faces the three-point specialists of Saint Louis.
