WWE Hall of Famer Calls Out Bret Hart for ‘Nuclear’ Remarks
The legendary Bret Hart is known for making some bold remarks regarding the professional wrestling business, and some of his interviews have caught the attention of former co-stars. That includes Booker T, who worked with Bret Hart mostly while they were in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
One of Booker’s recent podcasts for Reality of Wrestling featured him and Brad Gilmore discussing whether or not “The Hitman” could be ruining his legacy by continuing to berate, criticize, and hold grudges against former co-stars. Notably, Hart had issues with Bill Goldberg in the ring from their previous time working together.

“I like Bret Hart. Bret Hart has done so much for this business, and now at this stage of the game, it’s like I don’t know, everything’s nuclear. Everything’s just like let everything burn. I’m just like, why?” Booker asked.
He brought up Hart having issues with Goldberg that are “deep-rooted” from what happened between them in the ring. However, he indicated that he didn’t believe most professional wrestlers went to the ring with intentions of hurting others.

“I just think Bret Hart is a much better person than the person that, you know, has been doing these podcasts and making these claims as of late. Some of this stuff you can’t walk back. We gotta see each other at some point in time, and to not be able to relive some of the greatest moments in this business because of bitterness? It’s going to be a lonely, lonely day at the end of this ride,” Booker stated.
“I wrestled Bill Goldberg. You wasn’t ducking? I knew he was green,” he said, adding, “I was always thinking of protecting myself.”
Hart’s issue with Goldberg stems from their match at WCW Starrcade 1999, in which Hart claimed Goldberg failed to submit to the figure-four leglock properly, leading Hart to hit his head on the concrete floor. He later cited this injury, among others, as being responsible for his post-concussion syndrome and retirement. According to Inside Pulse, Hart made comments on a documentary DVD about his career, claiming that Goldberg ended his career.
Booker stated that he considers Goldberg a friend after their time working together. He also reiterated that he likes Bret Hart, but seemed to suggest he should dial it back with his interview remarks.
A recent “Johnny I Pro Show” interview in Montreal, Canada, also featured Hart making some audacious comments about his former boss, WWE co-stars, and others. It included him calling out Sheamus for having issues making his punches look realistic in the ring, and Hart suggesting he believed that Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon were lovers.
