WWE is Bringing in Hall of Famer for John Cena’s Retirement
A 49-year-old Hall of Famer will be returning to WWE for John Cena’s retirement. John Cena’s farewell is slowly turning into a mega spectacle as December 13 inches closer. The star will hang up his boots at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” when he takes on Gunther.
The match is set to be a star-studded affair as several legends and personalities, including those from the McMahon family, are set to join in on the event. WWE is apparently treating the show as a Premium Live Event (PLE), but that’s not all, because it will mark the end of a legendary career that has been marked with 17 world title wins.
According to F4Wonline.com, Hall of Famer Trish Stratus will be present for John Cena’s last match, as the star will be returning to the company after a hiatus. Stratus was last seen in WWE when she took on Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Championship at “Evolution” in July 2025.

The 49-year-old ended up on the losing side and will finally be returning after five months to bid adieu to Cena. Reports indicate that Stratus is just one of several high-profile names expected to be in Washington, D.C. for the historic occasion.
While Vince McMahon is not currently expected to attend, sources suggest Linda McMahon and possibly Stephanie McMahon could be present. Additionally, other legends such as Jesse “The Body” Ventura are confirmed to be part of the broadcast team for the event.
The “Greatest of All Time” will be hanging up his boots in the main event against “The Ring General” Gunther, and it will undoubtedly be an emotional rollercoaster for stars and fans alike.
