WWE News: Rhea Ripley Suffers ‘Legit’ Injury, Out for ‘Undisclosed Amount of Time’
For the past year or two, Rhea Ripley has been the most popular female wrestler on the WWE main roster, decimating opponents with her powerhouse style and infectious personality.
This has resulted in a dominant reign with the WWE Women’s World Title and one of the best storylines in professional wrestling alongside “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan.
Unfortunately, it looks like the Nightmare is going to be taking a hiatus from WWE television.
On Tuesday night on WWE NXT, Ripley was attacked by Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in her car, leaving the Australian in a puddle of her own blood.
WWE went on to report that the beloved superstar will be out for “an undisclosed amount of time” due to a fractured right orbital socket, sharing what appears to be scans of Ripley’s injury.
“Last night on NXT, Rhea Ripley was heinously attacked in the parking lot by Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and her enforcer Raquel Rodriguez,” WWE reported.
“Following the brutal attack, it has been revealed that The Nightmare has suffered a fractured right orbital socket, which will put Ripley out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.”
While this seems like another beat in the storyline between Ripley and Morgan, reports suggest that this is actually a legitimate injury and a reason to write Ripley off of television.
Not only did Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirm that these are legitimate scans, but Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio added some backstage details.

“She’s got a fractured orbital bone, so the injury that they announced is pretty much legit,” Meltzer said. “It happened last week, probably the last TV thing because she hasn’t worked any house shows.”
“So probably in the last TV angle that she did with Raquel was where it happened most likely, and she is gonna be out for a while.”
This is a reflection of earlier this year when Ripley suffered a shoulder injury after being attacked by Morgan, leading to her missing time and Mysterio eventually turning on Ripley.

According to Chicago Cornea, recovery time for an orbital fracture could range anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the severity of the fracture.
This means Ripley will likely miss the rest of the year, meaning she could return in time for the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber in 2025.
Everyone here at Newsweek Sports wishes Ripley and safe and speedy recovery.
