WWE Raw Star Gains Massive Praise Backstage for Storyline Role
One of the most talked about storylines in professional wrestling is unfolding every week on “WWE Raw.” Asuka and Kairi Sane of The Kabuki Warriors betrayed their former Damage CTRL member Iyo Sky, who has developed a friendship with Rhea Ripley. Asuka’s character has been obsessed with taking Sky and Ripley out of the picture on Monday nights, and she’s even been abusive to Sane in backstage segments.
WrestleVotes reports that WWE officials have been impressed by Sane’s work both in the ring and during segments. Sane has long been known for her in-ring abilities dating back to her two runs under the Stardom banner in Japan. Many agree that her character work has never shone brighter than it does now on WWE TV.

What Caused Asuka to Turn on Iyo Sky?
In the weeks leading up to the Sept. 22 episode of “Monday Night Raw,” Asuka continued questioning Sky’s loyalty to her. She offered to help Sky regain the WWE Women’s World Championship, but the “Genius of the Sky” refused assistance. This led to both Asuka and Sane attacking Ripley before Sky attempted to play peacemaker.
Asuka spat mist in Sky’s face, and Sane delivered an Insane Elbow to complete the heel turn of The Kabuki Warriors. Throughout this storyline, Sane has been reluctant to pull off heelish tactics. She has been trying to repair the relationship between Asuka and Sky. Sane has been slapped by Asuka more than once in her efforts to bring both sides back together.
During “WWE Crown Jewel 2025” in Perth, Sane and Asuka took on Sky and Ripley in a tag team match. Sky and Ripley picked up the victory. On the post-PLE edition of “WWE Raw,” Ripley defeated Sane in a singles match. After the match, Asuka planted Ripley with a DDT on the announce table.
