WWE Superstar Jey Uso Reacts to Royal Rumble Win Backlash
The 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble remains one of the most surprising of all time, with “Main Event” Jey Uso claiming victory over the likes of John Cena, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul.
While the crowd erupted with cheers when Jey won, the reaction online has been mixed, with multiple WWE fans claiming that he is only popular because of a catchphrase and a gesture.

The good news is that this mostly seems to be a very vocal minority in the fanbase. Still, Jey has taken a moment to respond to all the online criticism.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” McAfee asked how Jey felt about fans on the internet being “bummed out” that he won the Rumble.
“That’s them, Uce. That’s them,” Jey said, per Jeremy Lambert of Fightful. “That’s your opinion. You don’t strap my boots every week. You’re not on the road every week.”
“All the bumps, handshakes, the side stepping no one sees. Early flights and rental cars. We’re not traveling with security guards. I’m in the trenches like everybody else. I don’t pay no mind to that. I don’t need any of that. I’m just going to focus (forward), tunnel vision.”
“Either hop on the train or get off the train. There are a lot of haters out there, Uce. They talk it because they can’t walk it. I’m excited. I’m all positive. I never thought I would be at this level. Now I’m here and I got places to go. Yeet.”

Jey Uso’s statement echoed the same sentiment as CM Punk, who said during an appearance on “Good Guy / Bad Guy” that he was excited about his win and that there will always be haters in this industry.
“When there are 30 people in the Rumble, male or female, that is 30 fanbases, at least 29 fanbases, that are going to converge and absolutely hate whoever wins the Rumble,” Punk said. “It doesn’t matter who won it.”
Whether you’re happy with the Jey Uso win or not, it cannot be denied that his win was one of the most unexpected moments in WWE history, and he has a chance to surprise the world again at WrestleMania 41.
