Yankees’ Cody Bellinger Issues 2-Word Warning to Rest of AL East

The New York Yankees entered Friday in third place in the American League East. They trail the Boston Red Sox by a half-game for second place and trail the Toronto Blue Jays by four games for the division lead.
The Yankees are 5-15 against the Red Sox and Blue Jays this season. However, they have fared well against lesser opponents. That trend has continued this week as they swept the Washington Nationals and dominated the Chicago White Sox in the first game of their series.
The Yankees cannot control who they play, only how they play against them. Despite the White Sox not playing for much, Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger sent a message to the rest of the division following the team’s 10-4 win.

“Nothing’s impossible,” Bellinger said of the Yankees storming back to win the division, per NJ.com’s Randy Miller.
After dominating the Yankees, the Red Sox and Blue Jays may have written them off as real threats. However, their stars are getting more and more confident in themselves, even if they are beating up on lesser opponents.
“I like where we’re at (as) pitchers, bullpen, lineup. … We’ve got to keep showing up and playing our best baseball,” Bellinger continued to Miller. “We’re doing that right now.”
Often, the team that gets hot near the end of the year is the one that is most dangerous in October. The Yankees were not great since the start of June, but if they can start clicking at the right time, they could make a deep run again. They have the talent, including three former MVP Award winners in Bellinger, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
